Computing and information science is vital to everyday life; it shapes the world in which we live and its future. Computing is embedded in the world around us, from systems and devices in our homes and places of work, to how we access education, entertainment, transportation and communication.
Computer scientists play key roles in meeting the needs of society today and for the future. Computing Science provides us with many increasingly powerful hardware and software tools. Our society requires more and more individuals who have the skills to use these tools, who understand how they work and who have the ability to develop new and improved tools.
From S1-6 the department offer pupils the opportunity to build this vital knowledge and skills through units of work on game and web design, databases, computer hardware, mobile app development and many others.
