Prestwick Academy Fashion Show March 2012
The Prestwick Academy annual charity fashion show kicked off in style last week, with local shops such as MacGregor & MacDuff, Wish, Emporium and Viva (to name but a few) all coming together to support four tremendous causes: The Katie Piper Foundation, MacMillan Cancer Support, Young Carers and The Kilmarnock Stroke Group affiliated with Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland. Representatives of the Charities were present on the evening and spoke to the audience about their worthwhile causes.
Towards the end of the night, a gracious vote of thanks was given by Erin Cox and Alison Scott of the Prestwick Academy Young Fundraisers, the group responsible for the organisation of the show, under the leadership of Miss Campbell in the Business Education Department. The show raised a grand total of £1395 and a fantastic night was held by all.

The show began with MacGregor & MacDuff, modelled by sixth year pupils and was followed by fabulous dresses from Wish, also modelled by sixth year pupils.
Entertainment was provided by Robert Kilmurry, winner of the school’s talent show, and Jamie Menzies and Calum Park, who were placed second. The Fashion Show involved both junior and senior pupils and also teachers accompanied by their children. Shops included Electric Daisy, Street Shoe, Opus Couture, Kenny’s, Debonair, Lace Boutique and Little VIPs. There was also a range of stalls from local businesses present at the intermission and a raffle, all proceeds of which went to the four fabulous charities the night was supporting. Bella Mani Spa was responsible for all make-up and hair on the night. Talented and creative Art and Design pupils also showed off their own designs, ranging from jewellery and masks to jaw-dropping dresses! |
