PRESTWICK ACADEMY LIBRARY
MEET THE LIBRARY TEAMOur library is open five days a week and is staffed by a librarian, Miss Milne, and a library assistant, Mr Fairweather. We also have a student led library committee and student library assistants. A passion for reading is shared throughout the school and we will also soon have members of staff from various departments join the team as reading ambassadors.

Library Committee
Our student library committee work closely with library staff to promote the library and a reading culture throughout the school. The committee exists to provide a student voice when deciding how the library will operate and progress. Applications to join the committee are considered in the first term of each school year, see committee members or library staff for details. The objectives as set out by the committee are:
- To help with the running and promotion of clubs and activities in the library
- To promote reading for pleasure
- To link in with our feeder primary schools to promote our library, improve theirs, and assist in transition activities
- To pass on library information to staff, pupils and parents
Student Library Assistants
The library has a number of student library assistants that help with tasks in the library and help make book-themed displays around the school. If you would like to know more, or apply to be a student library assistant, see Miss Milne or Mr Fairweather in the library.
