Prestwick In Paris - 2012

On the 28th of March this year Miss McQueen and her 4 musketeers comprising of Mr Anderson, Mrs Dunlop, Mr Byden and Mrs McKenzie set of with 43 S2 pupils on a 6 day educational trip to Paris. The trip proved a great success with the pupils visiting the World War I trenches at the Vimy Ridge, numerous famous sights in Paris and finishing off with a day in Disneyland.
At the trenches the pupils were able to walk through reconstructed trenches and tunnels that would have been used by soldiers when fighting in the war. By doing this the pupils were able to better understand the magnitude of the war and the conditions that the soldiers had to operate in.
While in Paris we visited Montmartre where everyone had great fun visiting the Sacré-Coeur and its busy surroundings. Here the pupils were amazed by the fabulous artists painting in the streets and some even bought caricatures of themselves. Our tour of Paris also took us to the Arc de Triomphe, the Bateaux Mouches and of course the Eiffel Tower which twinkled like a star during our boat trip!
Pupils also visited the amazing Thoiry Safari Park where they attended the lion feeding show and tried to find their way out of the maze!
Our final day was spent in Disneyland which was enjoyed by everyone; the highlight being the 20th Anniversary parade.
All pupils involved were a credit to their school and their families – well done!
