Money Sense for Schools ![]() ‘MoneySense for Schools’ is a programme from The Royal Bank of Scotland that aims to support young people aged 11–18 in learning how to manage their personal finances. A group of 100 S1 pupils were chosen to take part in the event which lasted the whole day on Tuesday 27th March. Throughout the day the pupils engaged in making their own business and working towards catering for an end of Summer dinner for the staff at Prestwick Academy. The pupils had to decide on a menu, costing, business cards, posters, entertainment and any other information they wanted to add which they felt relevant to their business. There were four groups who made it to the final and presented in front of judges (Gordon Bone, Mark Anderson and Lindsay Robb). The winning team (Creative Catering) picked by the judges were Emma Brown, Amy Brown, Cailleon Convery, Caley Dalziel, Anna Waterston and Brooke Finlay. This day was a huge success and there was a lot of positive feedback. |
