Last week a huge number of Prestwick Academy pupils were successful in their chosen event at the ‘South Ayrshire Athletics.’ As a result, they progressed on to the ‘Ayrshire Athletics,’ competing at a higher standard against schools in South, East and North Ayrshire.

Both events had an Olympic theme with Prestwick Academy as Team GB! Over both events a medal tally was taken. Prestwick totalled a massive 27 gold medals and 18 silver medals to come 2nd place in Ayrshire behind Wellington Academy! In addition, 3 shields were presented to Prestwick Academy pupils – S3 Boys ‘Best Relay Performance,’ Kirsten Oakley ‘Best Female Track Performance’ in the 1500m (also setting a new Ayrshire record) and Fraser Angus S1 Shield ‘Best Boy Performance’ coming first place in 100m, 200m and Long Jump.
