The under 13 football team added the Ayrshire Cup to their league title with a 2-1 victory over St Matthews Academy at a wet Dam Park. The match started with St Matthews on the front foot, playing long to utilise the pace of their striker. Some half chances were cleared and a free kick went narrowly over but the Prestwick defence were up to the task and quickly got to grips with their opponents threat. Coming into the game, Prestwick were playing the better football, Josh Taylor, Joshua Barr and Sam Jefferson were moving the ball well and utilising the wide men on either side. Prestwick soon created chances with shots from Rhys Alison, Josh Taylor and Dillon Martin narrowly missing the target. Halfway through the first half Prestwick took the lead when Evan Knox was first to a ball over the top from Josh Taylor. Evan coolly lifted the ball over the advancing goalkeeper and into the back of the net. It was two shortly after when another through ball caused indecision in the St Matthews defence. Dillon Martin put pressure on the goalkeeper as he came to clear, robbed him of the ball before going round him and slotting the ball into the empty net.

In the second half more tough defending from Niven Milligan, Finley Milne, Jack McCall and Lewis Hendren and solid goalkeeping from Scott Reid kept the St Matthews attack restricted to just a few half chances and Prestwick created more chances on the break. Rhys Alison hit the post and Dillon Martin had a shot saved when one-on-one while Adam Darnton shot wide. St Matthews were thrown a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty with 2 minutes to play which was scored to make it 2-1. Prestwick however saw the game out comfortably and secured the win.
