Please also complete the survey below if you have attended the event.
Making Maths Count
Scotland has a maths problem. Too many of us are happy to label ourselves as “no good with numbers.” This attitude is deep-rooted and is holding our country back educationally and economically.
This is the conclusion of a Scottish Government initiative called Making Maths Count. At Prestwick Academy we agree with this and want to do something about it. This webpage is one strand of a strategy to improve the numeracy skills of pupils, parents and staff at Prestwick Academy.

Numeracy Toolkit
The most common feedback we receive from parents is that "maths is different to what it was in my day". To help with this, we have produced a Numeracy Toolkit to show pupils, parents and staff the common methods used.
Maths and Numeracy Workouts
The best resource for our pupils to use for revision is our Maths/Numeracy Workouts. This is an interactive resource that enables young people to practise the skills they require. Both websites are password protected. Please contact the school for these details.
For advice on using the workouts with a tablet please follow this link: http://www.mathsworkout.co.uk/tablets.php
"I am a mathematician"
Education Scotland have produced a good resource called "I am a Mathematician" which is designed to help you support your child’s learning in maths/numeracy with fun activities to do at home.
